Matt DeAraujo Website Launching Soon
Posted by Eric on August 1st, 2009
Matt DeAraujo is a 3D Animator that recently graduated from AIP. He needed a website that put his work first, displaying primarily videos of his animations. A functional resume section was also important to him.
The site is very dark themed to compliment his "eclipse" logo. It has a custom flash player and javascript slider to organize the video. The resume section displays his resume as clearly as possible and allows it to be dowloaded in both pdf and doc formats. The navigation features a javascript styled fader.
Overall this website has been a success and allows Matt's work to be displayed in a very captifying manner. Check it out and tell Matt I sent ya.
Sean Brice Website Launching Soon
Posted by Eric on August 1st, 2009
Sean Brice is a Character Artist and Game Designer that recently graduated from AIP. Sean wanted a site that was grungy and distressed and similar to the games he is used to playing. He needed a section to display his Demo Reel as well as a section to display still pictures of his character models and other work.
I used the jQuery Library extensively, implemented a lightbox type display mode, and built a system to display and allow the downloading of Sean's resume in different formats. The inspiration for the website was a mine shaft, and like an elevator the navigation moves up and down the page with you on tracks, allowing you to get to where you're going no matter where you are on the page. The navigation also features a neat little lighting effect on rollover.
Dale's Hair Design & Ina's Dog Grooming Launch
Posted by Eric on April 2nd, 2009
Dale and Ina have owned their respective businesses for over 20 years and decided recently they needed to upgrade their web presence. That's where I come in. I used the wood that surrounds their house (yes, I like wood) and used a little color and friendly words to create a complementary web experience.
I redesigned both logos to show their relation to one another, but still be specific to their different business types. I added large maps on the home page as well as the individual sections to help customers find the house more easily. A javascript-powered photo album was added to each page as well.
Redesign Launching Shortly
Posted by Eric on Februrary 5th, 2009
The second redesign was launched in May of 2008 and was widely popular. However, I did get some helpful feedback and ideas on what needed changed. The biggest complaint was that the site was too busy. In this version I tried to keep a similar feel with the gold type, baroque-styled ornaments, distressed wood, worn paper, foliage, dirt that appeared in the previous ncarnation, but really cut down on the clutter.
My main goal for this site is to be recognized on a few major web design/css showcase sites like cssremix, cssmania, webcreme, design metldown, etc; but I'm also hoping it will help me land a new job, since I'm currently unemployed. If you like the wood version, try the industrial and space versions.
